Product Overview

Removable Trash Rack in stainless steel for wastewater screening

The Removable Trash Rack by ArCh Enviro is a reliable and cost-effective coarse screening solution designed for manual debris removal in wastewater treatment plants. Installed at the inlet of open channels or pump stations, it prevents clogging of downstream equipment by capturing large solids such as plastic bags, rags, and branches.

This equipment is especially useful in smaller sewage treatment plants (STPs) or industrial sites with low to moderate flow conditions where mechanical screening is not economically viable. For projects requiring automatic coarse screening, explore our Multirack Screen with motorized raking mechanism.

Key Features

  • Heavy-duty stainless steel or galvanized steel construction
  • Custom-designed to fit site-specific channel dimensions
  • Simple and easy to lift with manual hook
  • Minimal maintenance with no power requirement
Looking for low-maintenance fine screening? Consider the Parabolic Screen for gravity-fed tertiary filtration.

Applications

  • Inlet works of STPs and ETPs
  • Pump stations and lift stations
  • Pre-treatment areas
  • Rural or small-capacity treatment units
For finer screening after the trash rack, see our Step Type Fine Screen or Screw Screen depending on space and automation needs.

Working Principle

The Removable Trash Rack works as a passive screening barrier placed at the channel entrance. As wastewater flows through the rack, large solid particles such as plastic waste, rags, and other floatables are trapped. Operators can manually lift the trash rack using hooks and remove accumulated debris at scheduled intervals. This prevents blockages and protects downstream treatment units like pumps and screens.
